We went back to Buckingham Palace the next morning, and as it was just past 9am, there were far fewer people, so we could actually see the palace and the guards. The guard just marched back and forth, not really doing much else, and after a while, we headed on our way. We walked through St. James' Park, across the lake, and over to Westminster Abbey and Parliment Square. Then on to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben again.
I seem to have forgotten to take pictures the entire afternoon of the 29th, but it involved going back to the National Gallery to look at the artwork this time, eating fish 'n' chips in the Leicester Square area, and heading over to Oxford Square for book shopping and free email at the Apple Store. (If you are ever in London and need to check your email, go to the Apple Store on Regent Street -- they have demo computers throughout the store, and are totally fine with people using them to check their email!)
